The equestrian stable of Herman Smit and Marriët Smit-Hoekstra. In addition to training, competing, and correcting, we also mediate in the purchase and sale of sport horses. We are both active in show jumping from national level up to 4* 1m55 international. Training & instruction: Varied program
Marriët has held the Orun Certificate since 2009. In addition to teaching jumping, she also coaches at competitions. Her greatest coaching success was helping Chinese rider Moadonog Yuan qualify for the Olympics. Under Marriet’s guidance, he also qualified for the 5* Global competition in Shanghai.
Marriet mainly gives private lessons. It is also possible to follow an internal training program. Please contact us for the possibilities.
Herman Smit has held his Orun Certificate since 2016. He provides instruction to various associations, as well as private lessons and competition coaching.
SH Sporthorses has a large outdoor arena (75m x 36m) with a complete course and top-quality ground from Zorgdrager Manegebodems. An indoor arena (25m x 45m) with top-quality ground from Zorgdrager will be added soon. The grounds also feature a piano wall, water trough, and hill for training variety.

SHSporthorses offers internships for students looking for a recognized internship location. Under supervision, the student will learn all the ins and outs of the equestrian world. Once the student has mastered the tasks, he or she will be allowed to work independently. We discuss the learning objectives in advance so that the student will have gained a wealth of knowledge by the end of the internship! SH Sporthorses is an Aequor-accredited training company. We recently welcomed students from Norwin College, Anna Maria van Schurman, and Deurne.

Washing tail and legs
Learning to groom horses

Feeding (pellets, hay, and silage)
Mucking out and caring for the stables

Cleaning and oiling harnesses
Getting to grips with obstacles and distances
Learning to handle young horses
Accompanying/helping at competitions
Walking along during SGW lessons
Getting on and off the horses
Providing assistance with teaching
Horse riding*
